My system of a down experience~

That was hands down the most intense, amazing concert I have ever attended.
I got a call from Mikey around 3:30 asking if I was going to the show - they were coming down ( TJ, Graeme, Mikey and Jeff ) to have some beers at the Cambie before-hand, and then said they'd give me a ride to the show. They were all on the floor, so we devised a way to somehow come up with a way to get me a wristband as well - by them smuggling one out and off of their wrists.
I was worried, and anxious.
Within 5 minutes of them getting onto the floor Mikey was walking me into the mens can to get the bracelet on. MINT~!!!!As soon as I got out onto the floor and jumped all over everybody screaming about how stoked I was I grabbed MIkey, and dragged his ass all the way up to the front of the mosh pit.
We got 3 people away from the front almost immediatly.
The opening band, Mars Volta - sucked. They had cool afros but the music was a really poor was an opener for such an intense high energy band like System of a Down.
I maintained my spot in the pit, and MIkey took off. It took about half an hour for them to get all their gear out, and they had a gigantic sheet covering the stage so all we could hear was the bangs and strums of their prep.
And then it started.
I have been to *alot* of live shows, and been in alot of mosh pits. This was the most insane. It was worse than Slayer. You couldn't breathe, couldn't move, limbs and bodies were dropping on your heads, and the music was totally intense. I was loving every single second of it!!! I lasted in the very front of the pit for about 35 minutes... and then I could barely hold up my own body I was so exhausted, and retreated a little further back. My body said relax, take a breath - chill out and collect your wits.
My brain wouldn't allow it.
Every time they dropped a bass line I was back jumping up and down and flailing all over the place. I ended up with these 2 big beefy meat-heads in our own little mosh pit, haha. Hurling our sweat-drenched bodies into another, screaming the lyrics, grinning like baboons. The show was absoloutely fucxking incredible. I was completly coated in sweat, and very little of it was mine ( side note - I have one of those super expensive La Senza water bras that stinks so bad Im going to have to throw it out haha ). My whole body was *SO* heavy and exhausted.
I knew the kids would want to keep going and party afterwards, and we lost eachother almost immediatly, so I gave Shaun and Adam a call and they came and picked me up. I could barely walk my battered, abused body up the street.... it was THAT good.
I didn't leave with a black eye like I had inticipated out of the mosh pit, but I feel like I have been hit by a semi so I know I did something right! That was the best live show I have seen to date.PPPEEEEEEYOW!
